Stella Maris Primary School Ampang

The Stella Maris Primary School in Ampang is nestled in the serene lush greenery on the hill-slopes of Madonna Heights, just 8 km from the city centre. The school started with a class of 26 pupils in 2003. Today it is a much sought-after primary school offering the National Curriculum. Its current population of about 350 pupils, and the teaching staff reflect a healthy mix of all races. Academically, there is a concerted effort by the school administration and dedicated teachers to work closely with parents to encourage, guide and monitor the progress of their children. This culture of working together has reaped positive results.
The school has consistently topped the national average in the UPSR examination for total straight A students. Extra-curricular activities at Stella Maris (Ampang) have produced exceptional results. The school excels in table-tennis and has emerged as District Champions for table-tennis for 5 consecutive years since 2014. In Taekwondo, we hold the title of District Champion for POOMSAE and are First Runner-up for Gombak District. Additionally, the school arranges for professionals to coach/teach robotics, chess, table-tennis, football and ballet.
Our school practises kindness throughout the year to teach respect for each other, build closer bonds, promote harmony and stop bullying. Each class is allocated two kindness tags which encourage pupils to do a kind deed and pass it on to the person they have helped so that the kind acts will continue throughout the day. Besides this, the moral teachers too, initiate projects that bring awareness and inculcate a helpful, considerate nature among the pupils.
Every pupil takes part in public speaking twice a year in English and Bahasa Melayu to help them develop and improve communication skills, to boost self-confidence and to overcome the fear of speaking in front of a crowd.
