Course Description

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Management is designed to allow candidates to gain knowledge and skills necessary to function at highest academic and professional levels. The objectives of the programme are to produce graduates who are able to apply systematic comprehension, knowledge and skills in the field of management. Graduates of this programme will also be able to express ideas and opinions critically and effectively via writing and oral presentations as well as identify new approaches in providing management based research findings. The learning outcomes are structured to address important aspects that cover practical knowledge and skills, social skills, communication, leadership and team work, information management, lifelong learning, managerial and entrepreneurial skills.

 

Tuition Fees:
Malaysian Student: RM 9, 000 per year costing RM 54, 000 for the whole course

English Language requirement for admission in Asia Metropolitan University (AMU) : All international students who are going to apply for AMU are required to have Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOFEL) or the test administered by the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with the minimum required score below for different levels of study

NOTE: If you do not have one of the above English requirements, you are not eligible to apply for AMU University (you can apply to other universities which provide English Course or apply to English language institutes to get your IELTS)

 

A master’s degree accepted by the HEP Senate;

OR

Other qualifications equivalent to a master’s degree that are accepted by the HEP Senate.

Note:

  • No direct entry from bachelors degree level to doctoral degree level.
  • Candidates with bachelors degree who are registered for master’s degree programmes may apply to convert their candidacy to the doctoral degree programmes within ONE (1) year after master’s degree registration, subject to:
    • having shown competencyand capability in conducting research at doctoral degree level
    • rigorous internal evaluation by the HEP
    • approval by the HEP Senate.
