Course Description

Bachelor of Science (Hons) Dietetics is a 4-year programme consists of 12 trimesters. The programme incorporates a wide-ranging scope of knowledge required for Dietetics practice; including biochemistry, anatomy and physiology, human nutrition, fundamentals of food preparation, the role of nutrition in disease prevention and treatment, and medical nutrition therapy for individuals with diseases. 

There is emerging demand for dietitians in Malaysia and overseas. More dietitians are required to meet the desired ratio for the development of a healthy nation for the new millennium. Dietetics profession may be labelled as the “hidden gems” among the healthcare professions

 

Tuition Fees:

Malaysian Student: RM 12,625 per year costing RM 50,500 for the whole course
International Student: RM 16,788 per year costing RM 67,150 for the whole course

  • Foundation in Science, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) with minimum GPA of 2.33 in 2 of the following subjects ie Biology, Chemistry OR Physics / Mathematics
  • Foundation / Matriculation qualification in the relevant field from other Higher Education Institution with minimum GPA 2.33 in 2 of the following subjects ie Biology, Chemistry OR Physics / Mathematics
  • Matriculation Certificate, Ministry of Education with a minimum GPA 2.33 in 2 of the following subjects ie Biology, Chemistry OR Physics / Mathematics
  • Diploma qualification in the relevant field from Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC) / other Higher Education providers with minimum CGPA of 2.75. If CGPA less than 2.75, a minimum of 36 months working experience in the related field is required
  • Other equivalent qualifications with minimum GPA of 2.33 in 2 of the following subjects ie Biology, Chemistry OR Physics / Mathematics recognised by the Malaysian Government
  • Malaysian University English Test (MUET) Band 3 or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 5.5 / Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) 550 (not applicable for qualifications conducted fully in English language)
