Changing teachers all the time, learning is not guaranteed, especially the management department's attitude is worrying, do n’t come to this school to waste time and money

I was a former student at this school. It is a new school and with no experience as I transferred to Sitiawan because of my mom's work which required her to be based there until her next transfer was up. This is supposedly to be an IGCSE Cambridge certified school however when I was put in Year 9 (Age 15) - which I was suppose to be already in Year 10, as they did not have Year 10 at that time so they grouped all of us together which was hardly less than 10 of us. I was in Year 9 for one whole year and they did not follow the IGCSE Program holidays. They observed all of the local holidays and there were more holidays given rather than school terms. I was very unhappy with the school because I couldn't study well as teachers were coming and going. We did not have a math teacher for more than 3 months. When our math teacher left, they substituted with a teacher who did not know basic calculations, let alone times tables. She couldn't answer basic questions posed by the students and we were so inadequately equipped. I understand the school is new and nothing is completed but when running Biology / Chemistry / Physics - We will need a lab - We never had one for one whole year and still without the facility. The Management of the school always chases the students for the fees and we do not get our books or our proper uniforms on time if payments are not made. It made students feel shy and those who are less confident just kept to themselves. We did not enjoy school at all as we will go with days without classes as teachers are not available. Now that the English Teacher has also left, I feel really bad for one of my fellow student who is the ONLY ONE left in that school and he is unable to move up to Year 10 as there is no quota. He is only in that school because there isn't anywhere else to go as most of the other established International Schools are based quite a distance from Manjung. Most are within the Ipoh area. I feel sorry for my mom as even her deposits placed with the school is not refunded as they had wanted my mom to serve a 4 month notice but because of her work which gets her transferred as and when required, she could not serve the notice and that too, she has provided the school with an official letter from her employer. The school is just trying to make money from whereever and whenever they can from exclusivity i.e. buying their school bags only, buying shoes from their own school, White T - Shirt which is of low quality and not able to absorb sweat. No Polo- T for society, No proper school uniforms, we were asked to wear the school T-Shirt and dark track bottoms and it didn't really feel like a school campus. Everyone came differently, no coordination, no fun and games. Even their Website is posting expatriate students but there isn't any expatriate students or even expatriate teachers. As a student, I lost my credentials and having to retain for another 6 months just makes me feel really bad. I am lucky to say that my mom has now put me in a reputable school which is very campus like (much negativity to say about the City Harbour International School which is NOT A FULL CAMPUS OR EVEN EVIDENTLY A SCHOOL). I wish all my fellow students who have left the school good luck and I wish them all the best. As for parents wishing to enroll their children into that school, ask for the teachers credentials and their certification / accreditation as since I have been there, my mom has been asking and THEY COULD NOT PRODUCE ANYTHING. My mom also mentioned that teachers were being hired from factories nearby for those with interest in teaching. Most of the teachers there do not even have teaching experience or if they did, do not have the necessary skills training within the education realm. - Signed - A very unhappy student

Not a school I would recommend any parent to enrol their kids into. The Management has no passion in seeing success of students but rather review school rates and prompt at requesting for payments than looking after the welfare of their students. To put icing on the cake further, rates are increased with no proper facility nor proper trained educationists. Teachers are not qualified, not from good standing a International Schools nor are their members of staff trained in basic ethics, communication skills. Attrition is at its all high with teachers entry and exiting almost every other day. I personally had a fair share of disappointments as my Year 9 son complained that there are days where teachers were not available for classes scheduled for the day. They had to go without teachers for days and NO replacement classes were given nor parents informed of the schools inefficiency. They even had a math teacher who couldn’t count proper or do the times tables right. All these comes with proof of documentation. I have since pulled out my children from the school and re-enrolling them where I will be transferring to. I would also strongly advise parents to read the fine print of the school agreement as the school will NOT refund your security deposit even when the case is genuine. I am one parent who is very disgrunted as my deposits were NOt returned to me unfortunately to a job transfer that happened suddenly. The Management does not value or build relationships with parents nor do they present themselves professionally. The school runs on haphazard approaches with no systems to a proper bookstore where children can buy their books, library, lab, proper cafeteria, menu display and the list goes on. Whilst I am all for the support of it being a new school, I would have assumed that the investors of the school would have conducted heir proper homework for running an efficient school or at least sub the Management of the school to a proper Managemtnxomoany that is prestigious enough to give the students the ambience of actually being in a campus environment. For new parents wanting to discuss further, I can be contacted anytime via my email address or via facebook

When we moved to Seri Manning, this school was functioning for 6 months. We did not have much choice as all the other International Schools was very far from Perak. The Management portrayed that the school was going to receive their accreditation soon and had qualified teachers but did not show us the teachers profile. After a few months, we saw drastic changes in good teachers leaving especially those who had International teaching experience. My daughter used to complain when she got home that sometimes she had to sit in class with no lessons being taught but asked by the teacher from different class to help with carrying books, and other miscellaneous tasks. My daughters grades fell but City Harbour International School loves to ask parents to pay for unnecessary events that did not bring good. After much thought, I had gone to meet up with their Management about the matter and was confronted with a very rude and arrogant lady who claims to be the GM of the school. She was extremely unfriendly and had this very bad demeanour surrounding her. She refused to acknowledge that the school was still not accredited even after such a long time and I am wondering how will students sit for proper exams. Much thought came into my mind and I had then for posted elsewhere (thank God) and had to leave. I provided the school with all the relevant documentation but the Management has refused to provide me with my refund. It’s now been several months of chasing the Management of the school and I have also lodged a police report to this matter. This school had taken people’s hard earned money and cheated their children out of a proper education. I WILL STRONGLY NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL TO ANY ODY EVEN IF THEIR MARKETING GIMMICK IS GREAT. THEY DO NOT POTEAY THEMSELVES TO BE EDUCATIONISTS AS THEY ARE NEW TO THE BUSINESS AND DO NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO RUN A PROPER CAMPUS. THERE ARE BETTER AND MORE ACCREDITED SCHOOLS IN IPOH. DEAR PARENTS, BEWARE AND DO NOT LET YOURSELF FET DUPED AND CHEATED. ANYONE WHO WANTS TO KNOW MORE CAN CONNECT WIH ME

Not Recommend for Anything at all. Not up to your mark. Money is sucked up like a vacuum but the increment is less. Even a Truck Driver earns more and well in any company I would say to be precise.

The school which my son Akarathorn attended since 2018, he improved alot not only in his studies but also learned to be a good boy at home and outside too. I hope the school can teach him more things and improve on. Even though he is shy but he must be brave and have the courage to do things on his own.

City Harbour it is brand new school with solid method and educational process well defined. They are always raising up new activities with different subjects to encourage the kids to grow up and think outside the box. Also the are bringing parents together to be part of kids education process. Seems like a great school encouraging kids move beyond dreams!

Dear Parents, I understand the frustrations that you feel for the school, however, it's still best to talk to the school management and verify the information if it's true or not. There is no perfect school, but there's always a school which will make your child happy every time he/she will go back home.

The terms and conditions are clearly spelt out when a parent registers in school. A refundable security deposit equivalent to 1 term's fees is paid by parents. As stated in the terms and conditions which is acknowledged and duly signed , when a parent wishes to withdraw the child/children from the school, a 1 term clear notice( before the new term begins must be given to the school in writing. The deposit will be refunded in full. However, if a parent has to leave immediately or at short notice because of official transfer or any other unavoidable circumstances, supporting documentation must be provided for us to act accordingly. City Harbour is a registered international school authorised by the Ministry of Education, Malaysia and Cambridge.

City Harbour International School is the newest international school in Perak. The first school nearby Naval base and Pangkor Island. Even the school is running on its 4th year, the teachers are well qualified and each of them shows the passion in teaching. And I admit, student's concern is their most priority. Teachers even willing to give extra effort for their student's progress. School compound and boarding are well maintained and very secured.
